It has been an intense and challenging month for WATERMEDYIN project!
After the conclusion of the training programme within the framework of our call, 30 startups from Lebanon, Palestine and Tunisia (10 per country) acquired new skills to develop their project and strengthen their business strategies. And they moved to the next phase: the PITCH COMPETITION EVENT, held online from 9 to 10 June 2021.
From the innovative production of dry fruits and vegetables through solar energy to smart water filtration and distribution systems; from organic waste recycling to sustainable fish-farms: each one of these startups have the potential to boost the change towards the SDGs and drive the economic growth in the 3 target Countries.
In the PITCH COMPETITION EVENT, each team presented in ten minutes their innovative projects and business ideas to a panel of international judges. Every presentation conveyed the elements of a successful pitch: from the highlighting of the gaps in the market to a proper customer identification.
The international jury, composed by 4 independent experts, evaluated the 30 proposals to identify the best 5 per country, that will be awarded with a 10.000,00€ voucher in services/products, combined with a 4 months coaching programme – held by a local Innovation Support Organization (ISO), with the support of CIHEAM Bari – to accompany the development of the award-winning projects. Finally, the the same 15 startups will attend a brokerage event in Italy, in October.
The results of the PITCH COMPETITION have been disclosed on a live streaming at the end of the event and the list of the 15 selected startups who gained access to the next phase is now available on WATERMEDYIN website.
Congratulations to all teams that have participated in this initiative. We are sure that a brilliant journey awaits all of them, and look forward to seeing the growth of these start-ups and the impact they shall have in the future of their Countries.
